AMEU-ISH Erasmus Summer school “Heritology” (8.-12. July 2024, Ljubljana)
Alma Mater Europaea – ISH is organizing an Erasmus summer school on the topic of ‘Heritology’ from July 8 to 12, 2024.
The summer school will be held at the Faculty for Postgraduate Humanities Studies in Ljubljana (Dunajska 158) and is considered a short intensive program (BIP) within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
The five-day program will include two one-day excursions to Aquileia, Tolmin, Monkodonja, Pula, workshops, and experimental archaeology, and will cover the following topics:
HERITAGE (theory, heritage as a scientific and social phenomenon, fundamental rights, and tourism potential… legislation, international treaties…)
AUTHENTICITY AND IDENTITY IN HERITAGE (needs of contemporary society, heritage as a value, who “owns” heritage, creative industry and national identity…)
PUBLIC ARCHAEOLOGY (scientific paradigms, the emergence of archaeology for the public, the role of museums, the role of the public, new technologies…)
INTERPRETATION AND COMMUNICATION OF HERITAGE (between science and the public, the role of museology and museums, documentation, and new technologies…)
DIFFICULT HERITAGE (collective memory and sites of memory, trauma and the role of catharsis, social meanings of difficult heritage…)
